The primary purpose of the bill (Reg. No. 7082) is to regulate the legal relations connected with the initiation and holding of the local referendum, standardize the right of the citizens to initiate the referendum, and prevent administrative pressure on the subjects of this process.
The bill defines the concept ‘local referendum´, its types, principles of public participation, and the issues to be introduced for referendum.
The bill regulates the issues concerning financial and material-technical support of organization and holding of the local referendum, responsibility for the violation of laws on the local referendum, storage of documentation on the local referendum, etc.
